Hodge Podge

Helping Daddy weed the rose garden. He loves to "help" in the yard.

Gettin all of those weeds :)

Our new fort!
The box fort didn't last long and I saw this at Target and fell in love with it! It was reasonably priced too!

The cow tunnel to go with the fort!

The Family Mile!
I had all of the family photos that used to be above G's changing table blown up and laminated.

They're hanging in our loft/playroom at Boo's eye level so he can learn who his family is. Our line up includes BeBe and PawPaw; Granny and Grandpa; Aunt P with K, M, and A; Aunt R with D; Uncle A and E; and MamaLove with G-Boo.

Remembering

Taking time on this Memorial Day to remember all who have sacrificed for our country. Some will remember those from the distant past and others will remember someone who recently made the ultimate sacrifice. Prayers for peace for all who are suffering.

I would also like to take a moment to remember my sweet Aunt Rosemary. She passed yesterday. She was at home and all of her children were with her.

Aunt Rosemary was just the sweetest person you'd ever meet. She loved life and she l-o-v-e-d to laugh. And her laughter was infectious. Almost like the scene in Mary Poppins where they were all laughing and rising to the ceiling. That's what I will miss the most about her. She seemed to see the world through rose colored glasses. And not to a fault either. In a way that made you wish that that's how you saw the world too. And my Uncle Carson...he just absolutely adored her and took such good care of her. They were so much in love.

I think we're all at peace with her passing. It has been a long time coming, but still, we're saddened that she is no longer with us. And, it makes me sad to think of Uncle C without her. He has been totally devoted to her for as long as I can remember.

Prayers for peace for our family and especially for comfort for Uncle Carson.

A Vist from Old Friends!!!

So, last week I was sitting at the computer and I got an email titled "The Garzas are coming to San Antonio"!!! I was SOOOO excited. See, my good friend C lives in South Texas and they decided to take a few days off with their FOUR, count 'em, four beautiful children and head north to visit some family and friends in the area. I immediately called B-man to tell him the great news.

You see, C and I go way back...to our junior year of high school. She was only at our school for one year and then decided to go to summer school to graduate early and return to Texas. But, boy did we have so much fun that one year! Sleepovers and going to the mall, and roller blading, etc! There was this one time we bladed (is that what you say?) so far from her house that we just couldn't make it back. It was a super hot day in July (enough said) so we called our friend Mark from a pay phone to come pick us up to take us back to C's house. When he got there, he wouldn't let either one of us sit up front b/c we smelled so bad from sweating so much! It was hilarious! Anyway, we've remained good friends throughout the years and I was just super excited to see them this week.

They got into town on Monday and we went over to their condo for a supper. The kids did great and G-Boo had the most fun opening and closing the closet doors in all of the rooms.

On Tuesday, Boo and I headed back to their resort to enjoy some fun in the sun. Unfortunately, B-man had to work. We missed him terribly. The resort had a lazy river and beach area. Fun was had by all!!

Boo just wanted to throw sand in the lazy river! Aargh!

Mr B! Their 3rd baby boy!

S and Boo. S is their 2nd boy and is just so cute.
He kept trying to teach G new words.

Boo trying to get in the sand bucket.

J and sweet, sweet baby L! Man, she almost makes you think about having another.
She was so sweet and never made a peep. She is their 4th...after 3 boys.
So, B-mama, it could happen! :)

Floating down the lazy river.

S and C. C is their 1st born and he was one when they came to Colorado for a visit while we lived there. Man, he's grown into quite the young man at age seven.

Video of Boo throwing sand in the river.

So glad to see you Garzas!! Hopefully, it won't be six years before we see you again! It shouldn't be now that you're only 3 hours away.

This and That

A little of this...

Led to a little of that...

G Boo just loved playing in the dirt...in his new outfit last Saturday. He just loved it. But, he was so DIRTY afterwards! So, I told B to bring out the pool and we stripped him down and he had a grand ole time!

I think I heard Sandy say, "Hey, that was my pool long before it was G's AND long before it was Murray's"!

Oh, and we tried and tried to get all three of them in the pool at the same time. No luck this go around. But, we've got the whole summer ahead of us yet.

The Fun We've Been Having

We're still not totally unpacked and everything isn't in its place yet, but I think we have some good excuses for not having it all done yet...

We've been making forts

And playing trains in the tunnel

He finally learned how to drive his tractor. Well, sort of...
He stands over it and walks while pushing it forward.
He doesn't sit and ride.

More *boxy* fun!

Don't you wanna come play in our clubhouse?
(this is officially the part of the post where I shamelessly attempt to solicit visitors; as if a trip to the commissary wasn't enticement enough )
