It's a bird, it's a plane...

It's POTTY MAN!!!

So, yesterday Boo and I started some hard core potty training. The plan...pump him full of liquids and snacks so that he would have to potty a lot! Well, that part definitely worked. He definitely had to go a lot. The problem was...he didn't always go in the potty.

We started off in these terrible training pants. He HATED them and really, who can blame him? They were made of plastic and were HUGE! So, after he peed through 2 pairs of these lovely pants, we went to real underwear...4 accidents later and we were out of underwear. So then, we tried pull ups but I felt like they were too much like a diaper, meaning no incentive to acknowledge the peeing that was happening. At least with the regular underwear he would say "Uh-oh" as he peed in his pants.

So, in about 2 hours we had gone through all available underwear options and decided to go the naked route! The good news for the morning was that he always "went" when I put him on the toilet. The bad news was that he also "went" in his pants or on the floor, sometimes right after going on the toilet.

The afternoon went much better! We did run an errand and he wore a diaper for that, but stayed in pull-ups the rest of the day and didn't have any accidents. I didn't push the liquids as much b/c he was going like every 8 minutes in the morning.

And this morning, so far so good. He's been up for 2 hours and no accidents yet!

He loved drinking out of his Schlitterbahn souvenir cup!

Teaching cow how to go potty.
He really got a kick out of showing cow how to do it.

He even praised cow afterwards saying, "Good job go potty cow..."

These are the only pics I got because it kind of got hectic there with him going every 5-8 minutes, the treats, the stickers, the paper towels to clean up, the laundry, etc...
But I just had to get a pic of him in those hilarious training pants...you know to share with his future wife.

Wish us luck!

Here She Is...

Update: Here's my 7 mos prego shot. It was late...I was tired...

We had our 3D u/s this morning!! Here are some pics of our little girl. And, yes, they're still saying she's a girl although, she wasn't very cooperative in confirming that declaration. She is very modest, like her mama. Eventually the u/s tech got her to move and she was able to tell and said, "It's definitely a girl!"
I think she kind of looks like Boo. B-man thinks she looks like all babies! :) She's already sportin' some cheeks.

Lil Boo was well behaved and mostly played trains during the exam. But, we kept saying, "look, there's Lil Bit" and he started saying it too. He even came over to give my belly a kiss during the u/s and ended up with u/s gel on his face. Isn't he the sweetest? I hope he's still sweet to her once she arrives. When we were leaving, he looked up at the screen and said, "Bye, Lil Bit"!

We got a CD with some pics and a DVD of the whole exam. I'm trying to figure out a way to post the video, but am having trouble with the format.

Sweet dreams, Lil Bit.

Look at her tiny little neck and shoulder.

Maybe a little mad that we kept pushing on her so that she'd move her legs out of the way.

Legs and foot.

Don't worry...the other foot is there...I checked to make sure on the video.

So, now I'm working on getting her room ready. This afternoon I've been going through Boo's old clothes and making 4 piles:

1. donate

2. keep for Lil Bit (a little blue and green won't hurt her wardrobe)

3. consignment and

4. trash (seriously, why did I keep some of those super stained items?)

I must admit, I couldn't get over how little some of his clothes were. He's so big now! My eyes filled with tears...

Her room looks more like a disaster area than anything else right now, but it'll come together.

It was so awesome to see her little face!! Although I've been through this before, it's hard to believe she's in my belly!

I still need to take my prego shot. We forgot last night and B-man's been doing man's work in the yard and garage this afternoon. I figured the grands couldn't wait any longer to see pics of Miss Bitsy, so I decided to go ahead and post now. Stay tuned for posts of what he's been working on out there.

Oh yeah...we still don't know her name!

Playgroup Portrait

On Wednesday morning, all of the moms and children in Boo's playgroup met up at Portrait Innovations to get our picture taken as a group! Didn't the photos turn out GREAT???

Thanks to my friend Carrie for organizing the whole thing!

Today is 28 weeks (7 mos) on the pregnancy calendar (BeBe, I was wrong to take a photo last Friday). So, we'll be taking my 7 mos photo this evening. And, tomorrow we're going to have a 3D u/s of Miss Bitsy!! Can't wait to see her again and for B-man and Boo to see her for the first time.
I had a doctor's appt on Tuesday and all looked well. That's all for now.

South Carolina Visit

Boo and I returned to TX on Monday after spending a fun filled two weeks in South Carolina. Boo was so good on the trip, with a few minor exceptions. He rolled with the flow and was super sweet. He is the best little guy and I'm so happy he's ours!
Here are a TON of photos.

Cute as ever!

Of course, his most favorite thing to do is to ride PawPaw's tractors!! Here they are on PawPaw's newest addition.

We went to the beach and he loved it too. Might need to rent a beach house next year...

We played trains and did some physical play at Granny and Grandpa's house. By the end of the trip, he'd only eat if one of his family members (other than me, of course) was feeding him. So, you'll see K feeding him in this round of pics.

Riding the 4 wheeler... a boys dream come true.

Lovin' on his family...

A trip to the water park.

And last, but not least...a SURPRISE baby shower.
And, I truly was surprised!!!

We had a blast! But, we were also glad to get back to TX to see B-man! We missed him so much.

What is

this face

all about?

Well, this is Boo's new backpack! Isn't it just the cutest thing??

Why does he need a backpack, you say? Well, Lil Boo is going on a big adventure this September. He's starting a MDO (Mother's Day Out) program this year. He'll be going one day/week from 9am-2 pm. It will definitely be an adjustment for both of us, but I think he will really benefit from the socialization and I will benefit from some days to myself before Lil Bit arrives in November. So, we're putting on a brave face (get it) and we're off to "school" this year. The MDO offers the WEE Learn curriculum which is Christian based, so I'm really happy about that. I don't doubt some tears will be shed between the two of us. I mean, Boo already cried when we went to register (he could totally tell that it was a place to leave your children) and I'm getting teary-eyed just typing this. But, in the end, I think we'll both love it.

I hope they have tractor play time at MDO! :)

I couldn't resist adding this next bit of super duper cuteness that arrived in the mail for Miss Bit yesterday. My best bud from Arkansas made this dress and burp cloth for our little lady. Now, if you didn't think the backpack was the cutest thing...surely you think these are. I mean, look at them! Adorable!

Up next, Boo and I are headed to SC for a nice visit with our family and friends back home.
Have a good weekend!

Conversation

Our Lil Boo is quite the talker these days, well for him anyway. It's so cute to hear him say Schlitterbahn and gymnastics. And up to this point, I've really been having to feed him the lines to say when people ask him a question or in just giving an appropriate response for things like mama giving him a glass of milk, etc.

BUT, this week...his responses are more spontaneous...and appropriate.

When I give him his blueberries and fresh nilk in the morning (yes, nilk...still working on that one) he now just says, "Thank you Mama" on his own.

He was having trouble closing the back door today and was staring to whine. Usually, I tell him that he needs to ask for help. Well, today my response was, "What do you say?..." and he said, "Help you mama..."! Okay, so we're still working on the pronouns too, but you get the idea. HE was asking for help. And, the miracle of it all...he stopped whining when he decided to ask for help! Woohoo!

And furthermore, this afternoon I burped and he said, "scuse you, Mama"!

Just more evidence that my Lil Boo is growing up!

Sniff...sniff! :)

Dinosaurs

There's been an exhibit here in San Antonio at one of the museums in town called Dinosaurs Unearthed. Back in March, our Mom's club had scheduled a time to go down and check it out. But, it ended up being right after the exhibit opened and it was during spring break. So, when we drove up to the museum there were at least 150 (am I right Carrie?) people in line outside the museum. I thought, "there's no way we're standing in that line!" I mean, Boo didn't even know where we were or what we were doing. So, after talking to my friend who was going to brave the line (she had a 4 yr old who wanted to stay and see them), Boo and I decided to drive around to the zoo and ride the train. He was happy as a clam to do that! We even tried going once after spring break, but again the line was super long and again we opted for the train ride option.

So, we decided to try it yesterday. I figured that people have had all summer to go, so I was hoping the line wouldn't be long. I wasn't entirely sure Boo would enjoy it either. I mean, he was scared to go in the Alamo when Aunt R came b/c of the noise of all of the children inside.

So, we pulled into the parking lot and started selling the idea of seeing the dinosaurs bigtime!
Me: "Do you want to see a dinosaur, G?"
Boo: "Okaaaaaaaay!"
Me: "What does the dinosaur say?" (hoping to prepare him for the roars)
Boo: "Roar!"
Daddy: "RRROOOOOAAAAARRRRR!" (really preparing him for the noise level) ;)

So, we headed up to the entrance and there was no line! We got right inside. Boo was definitely scared at first, but quickly got over it and became a little mad man running around all over the place.
You might get a little scared and put your finger up your nose too if you were watching this guy below.

He is a little scary, huh?

So we moved over to the pit where you can unearth dino bones.
He l-o-v-e-d it there and it was a great distraction for him while he got used to all of the ROARS!

Then, he was ready to go and loved looking at the rest of the dinos.
He would say "hi dinosaur" and "bye dinosaur" as he made his way around.

He was having so much fun that I literally had to hold him down to get a picture!

The Witte museum also has a science treehouse area out back, so went to check it out.
Here's a pic of Boo and B-man on the self pulley thingy! :)

It was a great little outing and I'm glad that B-man got to enjoy it with us.
