I called
BeBe one day this week and the first thing I said was, "Where do I start?"
She responded with, "Well, just start somewhere." Aren't moms great that way? They just let you lay it on them, no questions asked. So, to tell you where we've been this week, I'm just going to start somewhere.
I had my six week checkup on Wednesday and got pulled over for speeding on the way there. Yes, I was guilty and yes, he gave me a ticket.
Bleh!
Silver lining...he was very friendly whilst giving me a citation.
lol! That's as silver as this one gets.
I go to my
appt to find out that I'm not quite healed yet. Healing, but not quite there. The silver lining is that I am in fact healing.
Yay!
Lil Bit started coughing and sneezing Wed.
Bleh!
Called to make an
appt for her Thursday morning. None were available.
Bleh!
Had to take her to the ER.
Bleh!
Bleh!
But, thankfully, my friend Carrie's hubby is an
ortho surgeon at the hospital and he came down to the ER to check on us and help
expedite the process. Thank you Carrie and Brendan for being my silver lining!!!!
Boo and Bit both were
dx with an upper respiratory infection.
Bleh!
Silver lining: not in their lower airways and lungs!
Saturday morning Bit wakes up and is coughing really bad, gaging, accessory breathing, and is just yucky. Second trip to the ER.
Bleh.
Bit is
dx with RSV.
Silver linings: She had no fever, still just in her upper airways, we saw the same super Dr. that I saw on Thursday, the
ped resident decided that she didn't have to be admitted after they originally said she was going to be admitted, and the
ped resident told me to bring her back on Sunday to the
peds floor and they'd examine her again (without having to wait in the ER or having to wait until Tuesday for her to be seen in the
peds clinic).
Sunday morning I take Bit to the hospital to the
peds floor and the pediatric attending exams her. That in itself is a silver lining. The infection is, thankfully, still in her upper airways only. He was a great doctor and even gave me his pager number to call him over the weekend if I had any questions...another silver lining.
A little aside: Military docs often get a lot of criticism for substandard care. I have to say, that I think the docs are GREAT. I mean, just look at the personalized care that Bit received these past few days. It doesn't get better than that. The problem, in my opinion, is just getting to the docs. Once you get there, it's fine. Trying to make an
appt and trying to get a live human on the phone is the problem. I digress...
Another silver lining: Boo seems to be on the tail end of his illness and has perked up quite a bit. So much so, that he and B-man went to the Monster Jam truck show yesterday. He was scared at first by the LOUD noise, but quickly got over and really had a great time with Dad.
And these moments, documented in the photos and video below, are the BEST silver linings you can ask for. I love my family and my babies so much! These little moments carry this mama a long way.

Bit found her thumb!!

What a sweetie!

Smile!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monster truck Jam!!!
Lovin' it!

My girl and me!

So sweet.
Sweet, sweet sounds!
I'm hopeful that Bit is on the mend and that by the end of the week, she'll be feeling a lot better. I've been praying over her constantly (prayers for healing and prayers of thanksgiving).
Please join me.
