Destin Beach, FL

Last weekend I met up with some of my pals from Texas (although only one of us still lives in TX) in Destin Florida for a girls weekend. I felt really guilty leaving Lil Bit because she had a fever. Baby Girl has been so healthy and of course, the day before I leave, she comes down with a fever. But, BeBe assured me that she would be fine and encouraged me to go as planned. We had a lot of fun and although most of us just wanted to sleep in for once in our lives, we couldn't do it! We were all awake by 7:30 most days!

Eating lunch in Navarre Beach on the way to Destin.

Supper at Peppito's on the Harborwalk.

From largest to smallest!
Boats headed out in the morning for a day of fishing.

Our BIG adventure was parasailing! We all bought a Groupon before we got to Florida.
This was our boat.

Carrie and I earn our Airborne wings?
I couldn't believe how quiet it was up there.

Getting dunked!

:)

Coming in for our landing.
Kat and Michelle took this picture of the boat while they were in the sky.

Kat and Michelle about to get dunked.

I just keep laughing at this one. Kat took the brunt of that dunk.
Michelle looks like she's on a ride at Disney, just a smiling.
View from our balcony!
Doesn't get any better than that.

Birdy at the dock hoping for a fish scrap!

Hanging out at AJ's our last night in town.

On the parasailing boat.
The gal in the middle was our guide.
She was sooo fun!

Key lime pie filled donuts!
We must have gone by here 3-4 times for those things. But they were always gone.
Kat was kind enough to get up EARLY one morning and wait in line for us. She picked up a variety for us and they were so tasty.

The newest adventure in Destin.
Pretty cool to watch, but at $150 for 15 minutes, not sure how many takers they'll get.
Dewey Destin's restaurant.

It really was nice to get away and have fun with these ladies. I was so excited to get back and see our babes. Lil Bit taught me a lesson though, not letting me put her down for nearly two days after my return! She's back to her normal self now, thank goodness. A huge thanks to BeBe, PawPaw and Aunt R for entertaining them while I was gone.

We've been busy at VBS (vacation bible school) this week. And we're headed to Edisto Beach next week! Lots going on to keep us moving forward until B-man gets here.

Happy Father's Day

Boo, Bit and I would like to extend a huge Happy Father's Day to our B-man!!! We love you so much and can't wait to see you! Soon!! We're expecting B-man home for a couple of weeks for midtour leave in July!! The kiddos don't know yet, so don't spill the beans.

B-man, you're an awesome Daddy!! Our babes light up when they see your picture and when they hear your voice. They are the picture of delight when they get a letter from you in the mail. Even Lil Bit knows it's something special. Thank you for all that you selflessly do for our family and for our country! We are so loved by you and we feel it every day.

I had planned on sharing with y'all some questions and answers that I asked Boo about B-man. I printed out a little survey and asked Boo the questions and wrote down his answers. It was so cute! I took a picture of it to share here but alas, I mistakenly deleted it. And the original is on its way to B-man. I do remember a couple of the questions though....

1. How old is Dada? 18
2. What is your favorite thing to do with Dada? Play cars.
3. What does Dada do when you go to bed at night? Sleep.
4. What makes Dada mad? When I talk back.
5. What makes Dada laugh? When I tell jokes.

Gosh, I wish I could remember them all. He really had some good answers.

I took these videos of Boo and Bit today to tell you Happy Father's Day, B-man!  Boo was so excited to make the video, but then he got flustered in front of the camera, so he ended up with a short and sweet one. Enjoy!!

We'd also like to say Happy Father's Day to PawPaw, Grandpa, and Uncle A! Thank you all for support, love, and encouragement! What a great group of men we have in our lives.

Funny Friday

We went for Bit's 18 month well baby check this morning. She's 27 lbs (80th%) and 33 1/2" long (90%). She cried when she was weighed and measured but didn't make a peep when she got her shots!! She is so much fun. She also upgraded to a forward facing car seat today. She was just a smiling back there like a big girl!

I pulled out a sprinkler for them to play with this afternoon. They had a great time! I'll let the photos tell the story.

Anyone still scrolling? I know, it's a lot. I really tried to trim it down some, but I had to share the following little sequence...
Boo clobbered Bit.
It was all in good fun.

She's making a run for it.

Oh Bit, Boo is going to help you up.

Oh wait, he's knocking you down again.
(starts to cry)

(starts to laugh) Maybe this is fun!

Or is it?

MOM!!!! Boo pushed me over twice and I got grass on my bathing suit!!!!

Ahh, all is well again!!!

Funny Friday

My favorite question of Boo's this week:
"Mama, how does a Tyrannosaurus Rex know he has sharp teeth if he can't see them?"
My answer: "I think he just knows he has them." Ha!

He asks about a million questions a week and a few of them are gems like this one. My least favorite questions are, "where are we going today?" (makes me feel like the dreaded question about what's for supper) and "can I have a snaaaaack?".  Do all children want to eat all day or is this the whole growing boy thing?

Oh, one more cutey from him today. Lil Bit was babbling away and was very intent on telling me whatever she was telling me but I had no idea what she was getting at. So, I looked at Boo and asked him if he knew what she was saying and he said, "I don't know everything, Mama. Some things I don't know. All I know is that I want to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex." And then he ran off to get his dino tail. It was so funny.

And Lil Bit is always making me laugh with her facial expressions and general zest for life. But one thing stuck out to me this week as blogworthy.  Usually when I'm getting ready, I put a little bit of lotion on her arms and legs to keep her occupied. Well, the other day at the lunch table, I gave her some carrots with ranch dressing. Well, no sooner had a put it front of her, did she take her hand and dip it in the ranch and start rubbing it on her legs. It was so funny. She thought it was lotion. Lol. She's a mess, that Lil Bit and I love her to pieces. I love them both to pieces!!

Today is also Grandpa's bday! Happy Bday!!
