We're Home!

Here are some pics of our Lil Bitsy!! I don't have time right now to post the details of the birth and I'm dying to tell you about it. But for now, these pics will have to hold you over.
Our beautiful girl is a big-un!

Daddy's Girl!

I love my BeBe!

Our first family photo!
I was overwhelmed with the feeling of love as we all set there together.

Matching outfits already!

This is what M thinks about how the Tigers have been playing this year!
She's still a fan, but is disappointed that the Tigers didn't win her first Clemson vs. Carolina game last night.

Game Day!
I brought these orange/purple hats down for Bit to try, but one big brother
decided he wanted to wear one too. Ha!

Wearing her rally cap in the 4th quarter!

Boo meets Bit for the first time!
He was soooo excited to see us and to meet Lil Bit and was super sweet with her!
He might be getting a little green now, but I think he's handling it pretty well.

Our Divine Miss M Has Arrived!!

Little Miss M arrived at 1:46 a.m. Nov. 26th. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 14 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long. She has lots of dark hair and chubby cheeks and is all pink and rosey according to Mama and Daddy. They too are doing fine.
Can't wait to see her myself. Boo is still sleeping and doesn't know his little sister has arrived yet.
You will have to wait for pictures until they get home. I have not received lessons for posting pictures ! : )
Thanks for all your prayers for a safe delivery and healthy baby and Mama.

Still waiting...

I went for my post due date OB appt today and I'm still 1-2 cm dilated. The good news is that Lil Bit's head is down and engaged and "well applied" (meaning she's down where she should be). I just need to go into labor. So, I had some raspberry tea at supper and ate some spicy (not too spicy though) food and just went for a walk around the neighborhood all in an effort to spur things on. But, so far not much has happened.

So, here's the plan: If I’m still prego on Friday, I’m going to to the hospital and Lil Bit will have a non stress test to see how she’s doing in there. They wanted to induce on Friday, but the schedule is full. So, if she’s okay, they’ll schedule my induction for next week. If she’s stressed and needs to come out ASAP, they’ll induce me on Friday regardless of the schedule.

I'm in a better mood today than I was when I wrote our last update. I think it helped to get confirmation that she has in fact dropped into the pelvis where she needs to be.

Aunt L...BeBe has been talking about the full moon for a month now! So, you weren't the only ones thinking along those lines.

It would be special if she shared her bday with her Daddy...she'd definitely be a Daddy's girl then!

Thanks again for all of your well wishes and encouragement!

40 Weeks +

Well, Lil Bitsy's due date was yesterday and she was a no show for her own party. But, I didn't really expect her to come on her actual due date...I thought she would be early! So much for that thought.

B-man and I did sneak in another date night last night and went to the movies to see Due Date. It was pretty funny and gave us a good laugh.

Today, BeBe and I went to a craft fair to try to walk Lil Bit into labor, but the only thing that happened was that I swoll up like a tick! I know it's a gross image, but my hands and feet were so swollen! And I didn't have the first contraction of any kind while we were there. I do think that she is dropping a little, but that could totally be wishful thinking on my part. I have another OB appt on Monday, so we'll see what that exam reveals.

Here's my photo at 40 weeks. If I look miserable...it's because I am. Just kidding, not miserable... just a little frustrated and pretty uncomfortable. I know she will come eventually.

I've given BeBe instructions on how to post on our blog should I EVER go into labor and have this little girl. So, you'll have some updates along the way.

Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers. I really appreciate them all!

Baby Update

...or a non-update, I should say.

I went to the OB on the 8th and yesterday to be checked to see if Lil Bit was on her way. Well, I was only 1 cm on the 8th and was still only 1 cm yesterday. I was hoping Bitsy would hold out until today because my Mom arrived today (thank goodness)! But, I was hoping for a little something more yesterday when I was checked. But, I know I won't be pregnant forever and she will come eventually...but now that BeBe is here, I'm kind of ready to get this show on the road.

My Mom is here and Boo, Sandy, and Murray have given her a very warm and active welcome this morning! I just feel more at ease having her here. I almost cried when I saw her at the airport...it just gave me that, "Ahhh, my mom is here and everything is going to be okay!" feeling. I hope I give that feeling to my babies too.

Two other shout outs today...
Happy Bday to our nephew M, back in SC. I was wondering if you and Bitsy would share the day, but I don't think it's going to happen. Perhaps she's waiting to share with her Daddy and Uncle A who were born on the 23rd.

My dear friend from our Colorado days has launched a home business sewing camera straps and key chains. They're adorable and very reasonably priced! Check it out at Sewing for Lenses.

That's all for now. I'll keep you posted!

In His Own Words

People have been asking me what Boo thinks about Lil Bit. And I usually tell them that he knows she is in my belly, but that he doesn't really get it. We talk about her room and how you have to be gentle with babies and how Boo is the big brother, etc. But, still...he has no idea that his world is about to change.

Here's a video clip of us discussing our new arrival.

So, I'm not sure he's up for the role of big brother. hmmm.
I think it's so cute though that when we ask if he's a big brother, he says, "No, that's Gary."
Who's Gary?? :) hehehe!

Do you have any tips on how to make the transition easier for him?
We do have a gift for Lil Bit to give Boo at the hospital, but other than that I'm not really sure what to do except to try to give him the one on one time he needs once she arrives. I know that will be easier said than done, especially when I think about not even feeling like I had time to brush my hair after G was born. Any tips are appreciated!

Cowboy Boo

Back in September we went to the Comal County Fair and got Boo a cowboy hat as a souvenir. He wasn't interested in it all at the time, but this morning he wanted to wear it everywhere.
I got some really good pics of him in the backyard.

Running down the hill in our backyard shouting, "Wheeeee!"
I felt like this facial expression needed a little explaining.

After a day on the ranch, you might like to chill out on the back porch in your
Thomas underwear and eat an "apple ball" too.

Thank you for all of your compliments on Lil Bit's room! I'm glad y'all like it as much as I do.

Lil Bit's Room

I finally finished Lil Bitsy's room last week. I think it turned out great. Better in person than in the photos. I hope you like it too!

The tree decal was the jumping off point for the room.
I found it at Kohl's this summer.

Maggie's crib with her name above it!
Thanks to B-man for helping me put up her name as well as the tree.

Changing table and curtains.
Thanks again to BeBe, Aunt R, and Aunt B!
Glider and dresser.

Her "coming home" outfit is hanging from the hook.

I decided on this lamp from Target.
My friend Valerie made the "M" bow board for us.
I loved the green and yellow (not shown) bird hooks I found on an etsy site.

Remember the tractor painting I made for Boo?
Well, I painted these owls for Bit.
It's a painting of a Mama and Daddy owl with their little girl and boy owls (just like our family).

BeBe surprised us with this owl pillow made from the fabrics used in the curtains and crib skirt.
A little owl told me that PawPaw helped with this project too.

B-man had a security blanket when he was a little boy that he affectionately named ya-ya.
Lil Boo also has a ya-ya that he sleeps with and that he takes to MDO that Granny and Grandpa gave him. So, I've been on the look out for a ya-ya for Bitsy, but haven't seen anything that I loved or that wasn't ridiculously priced. So, I decided to make one! It turned out pretty good.

Front
It has one little paisley tag on it.
Boo's ya-ya has a lot of tags, but the only one he wants to hold is the manufacturer's tag. So, we thought we'd make it simple...only one tag to choose from and find in the dark!

Back
With tag sticking slightly outside the ruffle...again for easy finding!

Another view

It looked easy enough to make, but it was another labor of love. I followed this tutorial (for the most part) to make it. But, I had a terrible time gathering the satin. I kept tearing the thread which was so frustrating because I didn't have any trouble with the ruffles for the crib skirt.
So, during one of my periods of insomnia, I found this site at 2:30 in the morning that had a great way to cheat on the ruffles. It is so much easier this way!

So, that's it! I know it's finished because when I go in her room and sit in the glider, everything just feels right. Nothing seems missing. That's when you know you're done decorating...when it stops nagging you! :) Now, we just need a Lil Bit to put in it...but not for another 14 days please!

Halloween 2010

Here's a recap of our Halloween activities this year. Boo was just really excited to get to "ride the dinosaur" when we put on his costume. Enjoy...

Moms Club playgroup!
It was HOT at the park on Wednesday.

Vampire Boo!
When I took the photo, he had major red-eye.
I thought it completed the look nicely, ha!

I got these cute Halloween buckets at the one spot at Target.
The pumpkin one in the back is for Lil Bit.

Boo-asaurus!
We had a Halloween costume exchange in our Moms Club and that's where I got this cute costume for him. I orginally had planned on dressing him like Davey Crockett since we are in the Alamo city, but I couldn't resist this cuteness.

"Oh, I get candy for saying trick or treat??!"
(you can also see in this pic where I put his name on the back of his bucket with some alphabet stickers from Hobby Lobby)

"ROAR!"

Getting the hang of it and running ahead of Mom and Dad.

"Mom!"

You know I love those pics of him and Daddy holding hands.

"Oh no! The dino is eating all of Boo's candy!"

After making our way to several houses, we came back home to pass out candy and B-man took
Boo for a wagon ride.

Enjoying the loot.

Our lil monster getting ready for bed after a fun night.

Some video clips...

We had just left the house in this one.
He's not quite sure at first and was kind of looking around at everyone in their costumes.

Walking down the street.
Just cute to see him walking from behind.

OB Report: I'm 37 weeks and 3 days and everything is right on track as far as my measurements go. Bitsy's heart rate was 140 which is right on target. My BP was 117/76 which is great! They didn't actually check for dilation today...we'll do that next Monday. It's definitely getting harder and harder to get around. My intermittent groin pain is now constant (like it was with Boo for that last 3 mos of his pregnancy). But, we're doing well and I hope she doesn't come until BeBe gets here on the 16th! Her room is complete, so I'll post pics of that next.
