Yard Work

This past weekend B-man worked so hard in our backyard to get our rose garden up to snuff!
He took out all of the mulch, pulled up all of the old weed blocker (black tarp-y stuff) and replaced it all. Thanks so much Hon for all of your work. It looks great!

"Dad, you can use my wagon to bring in the mulch,

but I'll have to supervise."

I also planted some veggies.
Boo is helping me plant the cucumbers here.

Here it is! Doesn't it look nice and fresh?
Don't mind the fallen rose petals in the mulch.
I tried to pick them up, but let's be for real...it was a never ending task.

At the end of the roses, there was this extra bit of space.
So, I planted 3 tomato plants, a banana pepper and a couple of cucumber plants.

I really hope they do well. This is our first attempt at growing veggies. I already have my doubts about the cucumber. It was pretty fragile looking when I put it in the ground.

Singing Boo

One night before bedtime, Boo was really getting into singing his songs. He was doing more than just filling in the blank, trying to say a phrase at a time. B-man and I are probably the only ones who know what he's saying, but it was really cute.

So, we thought we'd catch it on video. He got really shy though when we brought out the camera.

We also spent time this week really talking about what Easter means. BeBe sent us a flip up board book about Easter and Boo picked it out every time to read this week. Now, when we drive down the road and see a cross at a church, Boo says, "us, coss" (which means, "Jesus, cross") and that just melts this mama's heart!

Texas Bluebonnets

Recently we've seen people pulled over on the side of the interstate with all of their children and a camera. What were they doing??? They were taking pics of their kiddos in the bluebonnets, this beautiful wild flower that is the state flower of Texas. Lots of our friends are out taking photos these days, so I took Boo over to a patch, not along the interstate thank you very much, and took his picture for posterity.
