Boo's Baptism

Hello all! I know it's been a while since I've posted on our blog. We've been so busy having tons of fun here in SC, there just hasn't been much time to get on-line. We're heading back to Arkansas tomorrow, so be on the lookout for a ton of pics of our visit when we get home.

I did want to share something most special to us before we got on the road. We had G baptized Sunday in church. We were surrounded by our friends and family and it was a very special day to us all. G did very well until the pastor held him...then he cried a bit. But, all in all it he was a trooper.

It felt great to stand before our home church as a family and dedicate our lives to raising our Boo in such a way that he knows the love that God has for each of us and knows our Savior, Jesus Christ.

An additional blessing on this day was in the water used to baptize G. You see, my bible study teacher in Arkansas recently went on a trip to Israel. At the Jordan River, everyone was getting bottles of water to take home with them. She said she immediately thought of G and his baptism and brought us some of the water from the very river that Jesus himself was baptized in by John the Baptist to use for G's baptism. I was overwhelmed with emotion when she called me to let me know what she had done. Our Boo is so special to so many. He has truly blessed us all with his laughter, huge smiles, and even his cries. We love him so much!!!!

We followed the baptism with a huge family dinner at BeBe and PawPaw's house. Yummy fried chicken, ham and all the fixins'! Again, just so wonderful for us all to be together to celebrate our Lil Boo!! Thank you all!

Here are a few photos from this special day.

We Made It!

Just a quick update today. We made it to SC in great time. Boo was awesome in the car and we arrived on Monday afternoon. We've been visiting with family and friends since we arrived and are having a great time, but we're also tired (me and Boo anyway). He's been very smiley for his fans and is held pretty easily by others, he just wears out quickly.

He's upstairs right now enjoying a little nap in his new sleep sack. We had to get rid of the swaddleme wrap because he kept busting out of it wanting his arms free. We "weaned" him out of being swaddled by alternating swaddling only one arm at night for about 2 weeks. Now, his arms are out and he has a little ya ya (security blankie) that I remove from his face after he falls asleep!!

Anyway, we made it safe and sound and we're happy to be sharing our Boo Bear with his family. I think they're pretty happy too.

I'll post pics and clips when I get a chance. We've done more in the past 5 days than we've done in the past 4 months!! :)

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary BeBe and PawPaw! How many years is it now??

Hope you had a great day! (Can't believe I forgot to tell you happy anniversary when we talked on the phone this a.m.)!

Here's your anniversary present...some clips and pics of G Boo!

G and one of his girlfriends, C!

Pondering the meaning of life perhaps?

Hallelujah!

Rolling from back to front!

This will probably be my last post before we leave for SC! Prayers for travel mercies, please!

God's Promises

On this roller coaster we call life, I often find myself feeling afraid or unsure about things. It's during these times, that I find comfort in God's promises. Think about it...a promise...from God. That's a sure thing!! And if I let myself soak in his promises long enough, it melts away my tension and fears. The hard part is staying focused on Him and not myself and my worries. Ahh, to be human!

That being said, whenever I see a rainbow in the sky, I always think of God's promise to Noah and his sons to never destroy all living things by flood again.

With these words I make my covenant with you: I promise that never again will all living beings be destroyed by a flood; never again will a flood destroy the earth. As a sign of this everlasting covenant which I am making with you and with all living beings, I am putting my bow in the clouds. It will be the sign of my covenant with the world. Whenever I cover the sky with clouds and the rainbow appears, I will remember my promise to you and to all the animals that a flood will never again destroy all living beings... Genesis 9:11-16

The other day we saw this rainbow in the sky. It's actually a double rainbow. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the second one on the right side of the picture. It's very faint. Anyway, it reminded me again of God's promises and how soothing they are to the mind. I have been including a daily bible verse on our blog from a 365 day devotional entitled, "God's Promises Day by Day" and I hope you have found some peace in them as well.

What are some of God's promises that you find comfort in knowing?

Baby Jogger and Date Night!

We did it!! We hired a babysitter (from the sitter social) and went on a date last night!! I finally got up enough nerve to leave our Lil Boo with a babysitter. Not just any babysitter though, I really had a good feeling about this young lady I met at the sitter social a couple of weeks ago. She turned out to be great! Boo was pretty good for her. She said he played well with her for a while and then just erupted for no apparent reason! Yikes! She had to walk him around for a while to calm him down. He gulped down 9 1/2 oz from a bottle for her! And, he did a fairly good job of going to sleep for her. At the end of the night, she said she'd come back, so I guess that's a good sign!! I must admit, I was a little nervous leaving him. Not because I didn't trust her, but because I've been with him nearly 24/7 since he was born. I felt like he should have been with us.

B and I went to supper at Olive Garden and then went to the movies to see Hancock. We had a great evening out! I even fit into my favorite pair of jeans and found a $20 bill in the pocket! Woohoo! Sometimes, it's the little things...

Now, onto my next great deal. One of the moms in the moms club that I joined was having a huge moving sale and she sent an email out to all of us with some of the things she was selling. One of the items was a Baby Jogger jogging stroller. I've been on the lookout for one, so I asked her to put it off to the side for me and I'd come check it out. She was charging $15 and said it was in pretty bad shape...the sun had really faded the fabric and looked horrible.
So, the next morning rolls around and it's pouring down rain. I kept thinking, should I even go to this sale in the rain?? But, I did b/c I told her I'd be coming. When I got there, she was so over this garage sale. The jogging stroller was sitting in the rain looking quite pitiful. She looked at me and said, "If you just take it, you can have it...for free!" So, of course I took it and thought at the very least, we could maybe use it at home on my parents property b/c it's all grass and dirt roads and we'd need something with bigger wheels to maneuver the terrain.

So, I get home and call the Baby Jogger company to see if they sell replacement seats and canopies for this older model stroller. Because the frame and wheels are in good condition. And to my delight, they still do!! So, we ordered a new seat and canopy and now have a really great jogging stroller for less than half of what a new one would have cost us!!!! Again, I encourage you all to look into joining the local Moms Club in your area. It's been GREAT for me thus far and I am now even on the executive board as the Membership VP!

So, here are the before and after shots of the stroller. What do you think?

Before: A pitiful, faded, tattered stroller.
It used to be a bright cranberry color.

After! A bright red chariot for our Lil Boo!

More Fourth Fun!

Chubby Wubby's 4 mos photo!

Mmmm! I love watermelon (don't fret, he didn't really have any)!

Sandy and Murray enjoying our family cookout.

Mommy and Boo waiting for the burgers to be done!

Dad grillin em up!

We walked down the street to buy fireworks. I know the picture is bad but, there's a huge tent to the left and if you look closely you'll see the end of a yellow and white tent on the right. Well, these 2 stands were at WAR with each other over selling fireworks. B and I thought the selection was going to be awesome because of the size of the tents. Back home, the stands are pretty small...like a shed you'd have in the backyard. But, we were disappointed in the selection. The ones back home are just as good, if not better!

B-man getting ready to light some firecrackers!
We got a lot of things that reminded us of shooting fireworks when we were little. We came to the conclusion that what was REALLY COOL when we were children, is kind of boring now! :)

Our GRAND FINALE...not so grand! :)
But, we had a great time grilling and shooting fireworks. It's been a LONG time since I've lived in a neighborhood that was shooting fireworks everywhere. It was very loud. Luckily, Boo slept through most of it! Yep, he woke up around 11:30 and needed some comforting to get back to sleep. Hope you had a great day!
