Our Growing Boy!

Lil Boo is growing quickly right before our eyes! We're trying to soak it all in because it won't be long before he'll be going off to college!! ;)

He is now weighing in at a healthy 10lbs 9oz! Can you believe it? That's almost 2 lbs since he was born.

His umbilical cord fell of this weekend, so we decided to upgrade to a regular bath. He was skeptical yet curious at first, intrigued by the warm water perhaps. That didn't last long though. He was quick to anger and seemed to say, er, scream, "Get me outta here!" Don't worry Lil Boo, Mom to the rescue with a snuggly towel!

We just love him so much. Words are not enough to describe how in love with this little guy we are.

Thank you all for you prayers, phone calls, emails, and cards encouraging us on this journey. We have so many people who love us and care about us. We are blessed!!

hmmm...what's going on here? Not sure if I like this or not...
Oh, definitely NOT!!!!!

Our little guy is so strong!! We're trying to incorporate more tummy time.

Happy Easter!
(thanks to Katie and Brad for my "Just Hatched" onesie)

We're still very much in the learning phase around here. But, we're hanging in there and are very grateful for our beautiful gift from God. He's a little miracle and we never lose sight of that. We don't make it out of the house much except for doctor's appointments, so this onesie we received this week quickly became his Easter outfit. Too cute!
We took G-Boo for an ultrasound of his kidneys (if you remember they noticed some issues in utero) this week. The right kidney looks good, praise God. But, the left ureter still shows that it's holding on to more urine than normal. It's not a terrible amount at this point and we're not sure if it's just a reflux issue or an actual narrowing of the ureter. The ultrasound can't detect that. So, we meet with his doctor in a couple of weeks to see what course of action to take. It will most likely be a wait and see approach for the first few months. So, please continue to pray for our Lil Boo. You can add Lil Boo's parents to the list too as we travel down this road called parenthood.
Thanks to God on this Easter day, for the ultimate gift of his son, Jesus...sent here to save us all! What a gift!

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Happy St Patrick's Day from Fayetteville!!

We got this shamrock onesie in Ireland in Sept. I can't believe he's actually here and wearing it now!

He gets this adorable grin on his face when he's about to fall asleep!

I've been trying to capture it on video for a while now. This is the best take.

Our Growing Boy!

We went to the doctor this afternoon and we're happy to report that our Lil Boo is officially growing! He weighed in at 9lbs 4 oz!!! Woohoo!

I had about a million questions for our doctor and he was happy to go over everything with us. In the end, he basically told me to chill out a little...that he was confident that we weren't going to screw up our little man! I hope he's right!! :)

We don't go back for a month now. I'm sure I'll have 4 pages of questions by then!

Have a good weekend!

Measures of Success

Mr. G-Boo still has us on our toes in Fayetteville. Is he hungry? Does he need a diaper change? Is he tired? These are all million dollar questions at this point. But, he's still our sweet sweet boy and is just the cutest thing ever! He gets this cute grin on his face when he's dreaming and it just melts our hearts. We can't wait for him to smile on purpose.

We measure success these days by counting lots of things...
All in a day we need 3-4 dirty diapers, 6-8 wet diapers, 8-12 feedings 2-3 hours apart and at night we HOPE for one 4 hour stretch of sleep! If we meet these numbers, it's been a successful day.

We go to the doctor tomorrow and we'll see how much he's grown since he was born. We can already see a difference in his size (sad to see him growing up so quickly) and are anxious to get the official numbers.

BeBe was here to help us out before and after the birth. We were terribly sad to say goodbye to her yesterday. Thanks BeBe for all that you did for us!!!!!

Aunt Robin arrived on Sunday and will be leaving us on Saturday. The time has gone by so quickly. We hate to see everyone go. What will we do on our own??

Thanks also to all of my Mom friends who have been encouraging me and offering advice the last couple of weeks. I really appreciate your help!

Chillin after lunch! "Let's call Grandma!"

We finally made it out of the house as a family for a short walk around the block.

Busy Days

Well, we've had our Lil Boo home for several days now and he's starting to give us a run for our money...wanting to eat every hour today and not wanting to sleep. What are we to do?? :)

He still has us wrapped around his little heart though and we just can't believe he's ours. He's just beautiful and our hearts are overflowing with love for him.

Here are a couple of pics of what we've been up to...

The only way he would sleep last night was snugging with his Daddy.

First sponge bath. He didn't like it one bit!
