SeaWorld Adventure

Yesterday was our big birthday adventure to SeaWorld. Military families get free tickets once/year through the Anheuser-Busch Here's to the Heroes program. So, we've enjoyed three free trips to SeaWorld since moving to TX. Because are able to get in free, we've splurged on a couple of extras that we probably wouldn't have done had we paid for admission into the park. Our first year, I did the Beluga Whale Interaction for my birthday! It was so much fun! And this year, for Boo's birthday, we signed up to have breakfast with Elmo and his friends. We had a GREAT day! Boo was so excited and so well behaved. Lil Bit did well too. I know there are a lot of pics, but consider yourself lucky that I didn't post all 200 of them!

This is his face as we walked into Rosita's restaurant and he saw the Sesame Street gang.

He took his picture right away with Elmo.
He kept making this silly grin when it was time to pose with the characters.
He was very excited and kept asking to go see them but then kind of got shy and nervous when he would stand next to them.

Zoe!

Cookie Monster!

Abby Cadabby!

Lil Bit wanted to see Elmo too.

The BIG guy!

Giving ole Bert a 'high-five'!

After breakfast, which was delicious by the way, the rest of the park had opened and we went to the new Sesame Bay of Play area to ride rides!

He LOVES to ride!

At three years old and the required 38" tall (with shoes on and hair sticking up), he was JUST tall enough to ride the Shamu Express roller coaster with Daddy.

Did I mention that he loves rides??

Standing in line with mama.

Thrill-seeker! Ha!

While Boo rode, Bit slept...

...and blew bubbles.

After riding rides, we stopped to watch the guys from Sesame Street perform a song and dance routine.
Compare to this favorite photo from Boo's first year.

We've seen the Shamu show, Believe, several times now but had not been to the Beluga whale and dolphin show (Azul) before. So, we decided to check it out.

Showtime!

Bit enjoyed snuggling with Daddy.

My Beluga buddies!

Dolphins!

This show had some acrobatics as well...

After the Azul show, we headed over to Dolphin Cove for dolphin feeding time.

Surprise!

He loved this too!

He was ready to try on his own after I showed him what to do a few times.

It really was a great day and a great birthday celebration for our big three year old! He loved every minute of it and we did too. We had great Spring weather too.
Happy Birthday Boo!
Oh yeah, Boo also kept his underoos dry ALLLLLLLL day! Hooray!

Magpie, Fundraiser, and Grapes

I don't have any pics of Boo in this post, so I thought I'd share our little conversation we had the other day.
Me: "Boo, do you want to move to Alaska?"
Boo: "No thanks, just grapes."
And that was it. I mean, really, where do you go from there? ha!

Fundraiser update: Thanks to all who placed an order during our MOMS Club Fundraiser. We raised over $700 for our charities. Each charity is also going to get $260 in Thirty-One products. How awesome is that? Thank you for helping make a difference!

Y'all Better Sit Down For This

We have a BIG announcement to make!!
We're moving to...

Here are a couple of hints (read: dead giveaways)!
  • it's the land of the midnight sun
  • we're not moving just for the halibut
  • you might spot us on a Discovery Channel TV show in Wasilla
  • you can cruise there to visit us
  • the state land mammal is the moose and the state fish is the King Salmon
Yep, we're moving to ALASKA!!

We're really excited about our next adventure! And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a little bit nervous about the move, but I'm up for it...a once in a lifetime opportunity, don't ya think? I mean, ALASKA!!!! Wow!

We're going this summer and will be there for about 6 months before B-man deploys to Afghanistan (I know, I'm trying not to think about this part of the adventure). While he's in Afghan, Boo, Bit, and I will go back to SC to be with our family and friends throughout his deployment.

We're just getting official word so there are still a lot of unanswered questions, but I wanted to share the news with you and B-man gave me the go ahead this evening.

So, what do y'all think? Can this Southern family handle the cold temps? Have you ever been to Alaska and have any tips for us?
Hey, we'll be ready to move to Alaska when it's over 100 degrees here in TX.

I'll keep you posted as things really start to take shape. I'm also planning a FAQs post about the 49th state. So, look for that soon.

More 3.0 Celebration

We had a good day yesterday for Boo's birthday. We opened presents throughout the day and went on a train ride in the afternoon. We finished the day with cake and ice cream!

 Choo Choo!

Daddy was able to join us.

Is it just me or is he especially looking more like a boy vs. a baby here?
I got this shirt with a 50% off zulily voucher. Love that site!
The shirt actually comes from Luna B Tees.

 Cake time!
I didn't make his cake this year.
I really like how it turned out and I think I could have made it.

So excited to blow out the candles.

He was looking at the smoke rising from the candles.

"I'm three!"

When I picked him up from MDO on Tuesday, he was wearing this birthday hat.

We decided to fore go the big party this year. We're going to go to SeaWorld later this month and celebrate there at their new breakfast with Elmo dining experience.

Happy Birthday Boo!

Boo turns the big 3.0!!
Three years ago today, we welcomed our sweet baby boy into this world!!
I CAN NOT believe he's three now. Sniff. Sniff.

More to come...

Oh, and thanks for all of your compliments on our new design. I'm glad you all like it too!

Our New Look

I just love the new look of our blog!! I've been wanting to get a custom blog design made for a while but really didn't know where to look online to find a company to do so.

Then, in January a friend of mine from Arkansas debuted her new blog and it turned out that the company she hired, was offering 30% off of their services. Sounded great to me!

So I signed up in January, but the wait list was long and I knew they wouldn't be getting to me until now. So, I was soooo excited on Friday when Emily from
Designer Blogs emailed me and told me she was ready to work on our blog.

She was GREAT to work with! As BeBe knows, I often have a vision for what I want and can't really desribe it. It's a 'I'll know it when I see it' kind of thing that I do.
Emily was with me every step of the way and tweaked everything until my vision had transpired!

I totally recommend their services!! If you choose to update your blog and use them to do so, please tell them I sent you (I'll get a coupon for future orders).
I hope you like it as much as I do!
