So, today was
Boo's first day of
MDO! Doesn't he look so handsome? He was excited to go to "school" and walked down the hallway to his class without thinking twice. And then, I opened the door to his classroom and he put on the brakes and went back into the hall and laid down on the floor and started crying! His teacher promptly picked him up and carried him in the room. I would say half of the children in there were crying when I left. One of
Boo's friends is in his class and when I said hello to him, he started crying too saying, "where is my mama?" Oh brother. So, I quickly talked to the teacher and left to go to the office to pay
Boo's tuition for the month. After paying, I went back down there to peek on him and I couldn't see him...anywhere! Where did he go??? One of his teachers was coming down the hall and asked if I needed help. I explained that I was trying to peek in on my
lil guy. So, she said she would check on him and tried to open the door, but couldn't b/c Boo was lying on the floor at the door which was why I couldn't see him.
So, I left and went to the car and started crying myself. My
lil guy was distraught and I was leaving him, for FIVE hours! All I could think was that I'm pretty much the only one who knows what he's trying to say when he talks and that he would be there for five hours and
no one would know what he was trying to say.
Aaah! But, I drove away to my scheduled haircut
appt. I needed to keep moving. I couldn't even call B-man or
BeBe b/c I knew I would just cry. I was feeling much better after my haircut and headed to my next destination...Johnny's Garage. Doesn't that sound like fun...spending your first day off at the car repair shop? The problem: tail lights not working...both of them. They were able to fix one, but are having trouble getting the part for the second one. I told them I HAD to leave at 1:30 so that I could pick my baby up from his first day of school. Could you imagine...me being late to pick him up on the first day? No way, that wasn't going to happen!
Alas, I picked him up and he was so excited to see me and I was so excited to see him too! He did great. They said he cried for just a few minutes and never cried again. He ate all of his lunch (no surprise there) and rested, but didn't actually sleep for
nap time (no surprise there either).
Now just to add some added stress to the day, it's pouring cats and dogs! Tropical Storm Hermine is here in South Texas and she's a
feisty one. I expected rain, but this is a LOT of rain
and wind. Picture me 7 mos
prego walking to Wendy's from Johnny's Garage (
cuz a
prego girl's gotta eat lunch) in the sideways rain and umbrella turned inside out. I did have on my cute rain boots though, so I had that going for me.
I really wasn't expecting the storm to be that bad, but you can see in the last photo what Boo and I came home to this afternoon (our backyard fence down...into the neighbor's yard). So, I'm not feeling rested at all after my first day sans children. In fact, the adrenaline rush of the day is starting to wane and I'm feeling a crash coming on soon.
What's on the agenda for next Tuesday? Outlet shopping with my
prego friend Carrie. I hope it goes smoothly!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I forgot to send Boo to school with his
sippy cup and without his school supplies. I was never given a list when I registered him (probably b/c they were in the summer session and didn't have it ready yet). But, I like to be prepared, so of course I'm thinking the teachers must think I'm horrible for not having his supplies ready! And in the office they only had a list for the class next to his, not his class. So, they told me to just buy the stuff for that room and that would be fine. I dunno if I like that. What will his teachers think when I bring a random list of supplies next week! ha! Don't you like all of the insights to how my brain works?
