Where did my baby go?

I've been working on cleaning out photos and videos from my computer. Yesterday, I came across a folder with these videos in it and I got so teary-eyed looking at my baby! He's grown so much in a year! Travel down memory lane with me for a moment...sniff...sniff!

This one just cracks me up! We used to get that blanket out every time
we watched Jack's show so he could sit on it.

Today is also Aunt R's bday! Happy Bday Aunt R! We love you and miss you!

Comal County Fair

Here's my 8 mos belly shot.

We did make it to the fair on Sunday and had GREAT weather. It was the best day we've had in a long time. It was 85 degrees and there was a great breeze blowing. It was perfect!
As usual...here are tons of photos. He's so cute, it's hard to narrow it down further.
Lovin on the baby chicks.

He kept saying, "I ride cow..."

I knew I wasn't going to be riding any rides, so I took him through the petting zoo part of the fair so we could get some pics of us together.

Daddy and Boo got to ride a ton of rides this year!

The BIG slide!

B-man likes this one b/c the carnie's tattooed arm is in it.

Roller Coaster!
He was too little to ride this one last year.

Wheeeee!

He loved every minute of it and could hardly wait for one ride to be over before he would say,
"I wanna ride that one" while pointing to the next ride.

Concentrating on driving that motorcycle.

Steering the boat ride.

We had a great time at the fair and I even enjoyed some fried oreos. This was my first time having them and let me just say, they're delicious!!!! You should try them the next time you're at the fair.
Oh yeah, we got him a souvenir cowboy hat, but he didn't care to wear it last night.

Bob the Builder and Susie Homemaker

I know it's been a while since our last post. We've been busy, but haven't taken a lot of photos lately. I guess the extra effort to just get from point A to point B while waddling has led to less pictures.

But, look at what B-man and I have been up to lately!!

How does this pile of wood...

...become this set of steps?

Lots of hard work on B-man's part. That's how. While Boo and I were in SC, B-man was in the garage every spare minute working on some projects for Boo's room. He has just started this woodworking adventure and I think he's doing a great job and these steps will always be special because he made them!

Painted red and ready for use!

These little feet LOVE going up these...

..."big" steps everynight!

B-man is also working on another project for Boo's room that isn't quite finished yet. We'll post pics of that when it's complete.

Now, while Boo and I were in SC, BeBe, Aunt R and I went looking for fabric for Lil Bit's room for curtains. We came across three coordinating fabrics that we all loved. So, BeBe is going to use two of them to make the curtains and I got the bright idea to try my hand at sewing the cribskirt. How hard could it be, right? Famous last words...
It was definitely an undertaking and I wanted to step up my sewing game and add gathers to the skirt to make it more girly. I've never done that in my past sewing projects. And let's be honest, I've only sewn about five things in my lifetime and all with BeBe there for guidance, but anyway...I thought I'd give it the good ole college try. So, I measured and cut the fabric a couple of weeks ago. I prepped my sewing machine Monday night so that I could sew on Tuesday while G was at MDO. Surely I would have enough time to finish before picking him up at 2:00 p.m. Well, it quickly became clear to me that I would in no way be close to finished by pick-up time. But, alas, it's now complete and it turned out pretty good. If you ever come visit, promise not to look too closely though!

Turns out, only a tiny portion sticks out from the bottom of the crib.

I can't wait to show Lil Bit!

Ta-dah!
Yes, that's a blue (gasp!) crib sheet on the mattress.
We don't have girly sheets yet! :)

Now, for what the grandparents really want to see...

This is Boo putting Percy to bed at night.
He sleeps on the bookshelf in his room upside down...all Boo's idea.
Oh, I know this is not really Percy, but for all intents and purposes in our house, it is!

Don't forget Thomas!

" Where's Boo? "
"Here he is!!"

Tomorrow marks the 32 weeks/8th month mark of our pregnancy. I go to the doctor on Wednesday of next week. So, check back for a belly shot! We're also hoping to go back to the Comal County Fair this weekend. If we make it, we'll be posting pics of that soon.

P.S. I'm very frustrated that all of the wording is centered now on our posts. In the past I usually just center the captions under the photos, but for some reason now it's an all of nothing kind of deal. Boo.

Twins??

Ha! Gotcha!

We're not having twins but, seriously...check out these u/s pics of Lil Boo and Lil Bit. Boo is on top and Bit is on the bottom.
Could they look any more alike? Now, I wonder if she will have blonde hair and blue eyes too.
Boo's u/s was at 28 weeks and Bit's was today at 29 1/2 weeks.

Our u/s today was to check the location of the placenta. It was a little low at the first u/s so, they wanted to check it again to make sure it moved up out of the way. The u/s tech indicated that it was out of the way, but the doc has the final say (my appt is on the 29th). She also said that Lil Bit is currently 3lbs and 6oz and measures to be about 4 days ahead of her expected due date...but who really knows.

And, for the third time...it's a girl!! :)

First Day of MDO

So, today was Boo's first day of MDO! Doesn't he look so handsome? He was excited to go to "school" and walked down the hallway to his class without thinking twice. And then, I opened the door to his classroom and he put on the brakes and went back into the hall and laid down on the floor and started crying! His teacher promptly picked him up and carried him in the room. I would say half of the children in there were crying when I left. One of Boo's friends is in his class and when I said hello to him, he started crying too saying, "where is my mama?" Oh brother. So, I quickly talked to the teacher and left to go to the office to pay Boo's tuition for the month. After paying, I went back down there to peek on him and I couldn't see him...anywhere! Where did he go??? One of his teachers was coming down the hall and asked if I needed help. I explained that I was trying to peek in on my lil guy. So, she said she would check on him and tried to open the door, but couldn't b/c Boo was lying on the floor at the door which was why I couldn't see him.

So, I left and went to the car and started crying myself. My lil guy was distraught and I was leaving him, for FIVE hours! All I could think was that I'm pretty much the only one who knows what he's trying to say when he talks and that he would be there for five hours and no one would know what he was trying to say. Aaah! But, I drove away to my scheduled haircut appt. I needed to keep moving. I couldn't even call B-man or BeBe b/c I knew I would just cry. I was feeling much better after my haircut and headed to my next destination...Johnny's Garage. Doesn't that sound like fun...spending your first day off at the car repair shop? The problem: tail lights not working...both of them. They were able to fix one, but are having trouble getting the part for the second one. I told them I HAD to leave at 1:30 so that I could pick my baby up from his first day of school. Could you imagine...me being late to pick him up on the first day? No way, that wasn't going to happen!

Alas, I picked him up and he was so excited to see me and I was so excited to see him too! He did great. They said he cried for just a few minutes and never cried again. He ate all of his lunch (no surprise there) and rested, but didn't actually sleep for nap time (no surprise there either).

Now just to add some added stress to the day, it's pouring cats and dogs! Tropical Storm Hermine is here in South Texas and she's a feisty one. I expected rain, but this is a LOT of rain and wind. Picture me 7 mos prego walking to Wendy's from Johnny's Garage (cuz a prego girl's gotta eat lunch) in the sideways rain and umbrella turned inside out. I did have on my cute rain boots though, so I had that going for me.

I really wasn't expecting the storm to be that bad, but you can see in the last photo what Boo and I came home to this afternoon (our backyard fence down...into the neighbor's yard). So, I'm not feeling rested at all after my first day sans children. In fact, the adrenaline rush of the day is starting to wane and I'm feeling a crash coming on soon.

What's on the agenda for next Tuesday? Outlet shopping with my prego friend Carrie. I hope it goes smoothly!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I forgot to send Boo to school with his sippy cup and without his school supplies. I was never given a list when I registered him (probably b/c they were in the summer session and didn't have it ready yet). But, I like to be prepared, so of course I'm thinking the teachers must think I'm horrible for not having his supplies ready! And in the office they only had a list for the class next to his, not his class. So, they told me to just buy the stuff for that room and that would be fine. I dunno if I like that. What will his teachers think when I bring a random list of supplies next week! ha! Don't you like all of the insights to how my brain works?

B-man's most favorite day...

Can you guess what day it was???

That's right, folks! It was the first day of Clemson football for the 2010 season!

GOOOOOO TIGERS!

Miss Bit even got in on the action this year. ;)

We're happy to report that both Clemson and Arkansas won their season openers!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend holiday weekend!
Oh yeah...potty training update:
After a rough day 2, things have been going much better. In fact he didn't have any accidents on Friday and we even left the house to do some shopping and meet friends for lunch! He did have one accident yesterday. We had gone to some friends house and I think he was just too excited by all of their Thomas trains. It was also our first time at their house, so he was doubly excited.
He still won't tell you that he has to go, so until we get that covered, it's to the potty about every 20-30 minutes. So, I'm hopeful...
